Default Need an S2K in SoCal please

Hello gentlemen, I need to ask a favor of you. I need to run an S2K (stock hopefully) AP1 or 2, prefer an AP2 but we will see how this goes....

I am a member of the my350z.com board and there is some bickering going on about the endless Z vs S2K debate and I just want to end it

I have yet to race anyone in my Z so its tough for me to give a solid answer about what it can do against an AP1/2 so if someone in the local area is available we can meet at a public Honda meet or Z meet and get some runs on vid to post on the boards to quiet the mob on this issue.

My guess is my Z should inch away up top but that remains to be seen.

I wouldnt normally ask such a favor but I am tired of reading about it and no one posting vids

FYI I have an 06 Track model Z with a newer version of the VQ motor REV-UP(exhaust cam phasing added) and no vids yet exist vs S2Ks ---- the car is completely stock and this is for informational purposes only, no money or trash talking involved.

I appreciate those S2K owners who read this and will greatly appreciate the owner/s who volunteer to help with the vid

Thanks again for your time

Depends on the chosen mods (the Z tranny sucks compared to an AP1/2 tranny) shifting hurts as well because of this

Just like S2k mods, some make power and most dont

Thanks for your post, hopefully we get a volunteer

anything below 100mph we will slowly edge you out but above 100, z>s2k. its more of a drivers race too.

there are countless 350z vs. s2000 vids. you must not be looking.

So you have a REVUP Video not a NonREVUP VQ video against an AP1/2

NonREVUP -- 225-235whp vs 250-265whp REVUP

The REVUPs have been out a short time and I doubt you could make "countless" vids in that time anyway

I dont see the AP1/2 pulling against a REVUP from anyspeed --- traps for REVUPs are 103-105 depending on track conditions obviously but I would rather see it myself or from a reputable vid with good drivers in both cars.

If your gonna insert a "hit the search button" post dont bother please....I just need some volunteers for a simple vid to squash it

Hmmmm, this is interesting...I just bought a HDD Camcorder and an AP1 that runs harder than I expected, plus a friend of mine that said he would be in town this weekend has a 350z Aniversary Edition from 2005. If I'm not mistaken, that is simply a Track Package with leather interior from what I recall him saying. Would this qualify for your video requirements?

If your AP1 is close to stock PLEASE make a video if your friend is somewhat comfortable shifting his Z (it takes some getting used to if your used to Honda smooth trannys)

Youd be doing alot of people a favor if you could do some pre race footage --- in car footage (from a roll to save your cars) maybe 20-40-60 roll

Should be good times

He has had his Z since Sept 2005 and I just got my AP1, so from a roll I'm comfortable with shifting quick and not having to worry about launching, etc. The only mod that my 2001 S has is a K&N filter sitting in the bottom half of the factory airbox...that's how I got it with 106k on the clock. I'll see what we can put together this weekend.

A lot of people are telling me that Honda's are known for running their best at the higher mileage area. I'm fully ASE Certified, etc..been around cars and worked on nearly everything and all...but this one really has EVERYONE that has gone for a ride/drive stumped. I'm definitely going to dyno it to see what the scoop is.

Carbon build up is your friend! lol

I had a B16 that layed down 156whp with an 3" intake and straight 2.5 header back exhaust ---- stock cams and everything else --- strong old motor

I think I have one local volunteer as well but his is slightly modded so I am still looking for a SoCal stock as a rock example but --- that may be asking alot in SoCal

its all about skills from low spd. n rolling start S2000 wins. high end probably Z wins. over all s2k > 350z ... lol
by the way, i was owner of both of the cars and still respect Nissan or any other cars except Subaru.. lol

You realize this video is all of 20 seconds long, has no info on either car and is from a stop with what looks like two levels of drivers ---- the Z doesnt even have his headlights on! lol

It looks like I have a few volunteers and I appreciate their efforts. I will try to get some footage so we can it scientifically --- we will still have some haters but at least most people will be satisfied.

Thanks again for coming through guys.
