trying to get 11:1 out of a y8...
I'm rebuilding a blown y8... trying to get 11:1 compression with forged pistons and rods. anyone know of what pistons i can use? i can't seem to find any higher than 10.5:1
. should i just get those and mil the head/get a thinner head gasket? I've found some 11:1 a6 pistons... will these work? let me know what i should do, and where i can get the parts.

i read a honda tuning where they installed jdm zc pistons into a d16z6 to bump up compression...it ended making more HP than a b16
the pistons for the a6 wont yeild the same compression on a y8 because the combustion chambers are a different size on the 2 different heads
if youre going with stock bore JDM DOHC ZC pistons ( also the 88-89 integra d16a1 pistons) will get you around where you want to be

i'm actually gonna bore the cylinders out 0.020in (0.50mm), but i guess i could just get oversized zc or a1 pistons. but the problem remains... how do i predict what my compression will be with pistons whose labeled compression ratios are designed for motors with different head cc's. also, will i have to/can i mill the head with these pistons? what compression zc or a1 pistons should i go with to acheive somewhere between 11.0:1 and 11.2:1 on my y8?
here is the answer to all http://www.zealautowerks.com/dseries.html id stay away from milling as much as possible and u could consider flat faced valves they bump .2-.3 on top of what you have with stock valves omni power makes some for good price

that site was pretty helpful. i put in all my info (y8 with 0.50mm overbore, stock head, etc.) and checked out some results with different pistons. the a1 and zc pistons both yielded 12.69:1, and the screen tuned red!!! what does that mean? too high compression? pistons will hit? the a6 pistons yielded only 10.42:1 (but the screen stayed green
) so with those, i'd probably go with flat valves or mil the head. are there low compression a1 or zc pistons i could use to keep me around 11.5:1 at the most? can anyone asure me that any of these pistons will be safe with stock head height?

there is only one "compression" zc/a1 piston.. i think they have a 12cc dome.. thats all
go with the a6 pistons... you're not gonna notice a half a point difference in compression
