Did all of the JDM/UKDM Prelude Type S's have the ATTS system? I'm debating putting an H22 in my Civic, and I want to do the Type S swap, but the Atts thing would obviously not work in my civic. . .
Thanks in advance

Yes. All TypeS Preludes had ATTS.
In addition, there was a Prelude model called the "S-Spec" that had the 220hp version of the H22a and a 5spd manual with a normal LSD instead of the ATTS. This version had different wheel, no front lip spoiler, and added amenities like a stereo that had been removed from the TypeS model. There are two problems with the elusive S-Spec swap however...
1) Good luck finding one. The Prelude was an unpopular car in Japan. The S-Spec was the rarest version only produced in MY 99 and 00 I belive.
2) If you find someone who claims to be selling an "S-spec" changeover swap, How will you identify it to be sure you are not getting ripped off with a normal 200HP H22A with LSD? The S-Spec, like the TypeS, had a red valve cover, but that is simple enough to change... And the block stamping is just "H22A" like all other "regular" H22As...

He's right. If you have a reliable source of aquiring a real S-spec engine, more power to you. If I were you I'd just get a USDM engine and avoid the hassle of importing for an extra 20hp. Besides, you can always make that power up with some engine work. Good Luck.

No, they were red. I wouldn't waste my money with a type S motor, just get a regular H22A and go off on it! You can make a regular one insane for the amount of money you spend on a type-s.

im pretty sure that the S-Spec had a blue valve cover like the f20b and h23a vtec, didnt it? i may be wrong but i was pretty sure the type-s had a red one and a sir s-spec had a blue one.

Well, since this is back up from the dead, I thought I'd correct myself... I had always thought that the 220ps SiR S-Spec Prelude had a red valve cover like the Prelude TypeS has. However, I recently saw pics of a wrecked SiR S-Spec engine bay, and it turns out that the Prelude SiR S-spec valve cover is actually BLACK...
