Default intake, headers, intake manifold... stock exhaust... bad for the motor?

I drive a 03 tiburon gt v6. I asked this question on the tiburon forums but... think typical tiburon owners... they have no clue. they were just trying to get me to buy an exhaust. so back home to h-t.

cliffs notes: stock tiburon breathing system is a joke. intake, headers, and intake manifold EACH yield about 10-15whp. stock dyno of a v6 is around 150whp.

so given the increase in air flow, bottlenecking in the stock exhaust... is this bad for the motor? or will it just decrease potential hp/tq and throttle response?

thx

Doing what ever will help, bottle necking on the level of just bolt on upgrades made for the street you won't lose power per say, but you'll be looking at large gains from opening the exhaust up.

It won't be bad for the motor, but you would probably get better gains if you get the exhaust system too.

haha good!

this is my daily driver so priority is reliability.

the thing is that i/h/im will increase power a good 20-30% while maintaining a decent highway cruise decibel level.

all in all everything should cost me about $750, since I have an safc II from my 240. exhaust would just about double that :-P

20- 30% gain with just those 3?! are you freaking kidding me. lol. this isnt a 6 or 7Liter engine we are talking about. there is now way you are going to be gaining about 30whp by those. maybe, if its the best stuff, more like 10-15whp. sorry, try again

ya a 20-30% gain when the whole system is complete, (ex. a full exhaust for starters)
