Putting electrical tape over VIN?
Just put a business card, easily removable if you get pulled over. If you tape over the Vin the police officer will find it suspicious.

not if you explain to the cop that you drive one of the most stolen vehicles in the u.s. and you are paranoid about protecting your investment
(meanwhile, he can run the plates etc to verify that you are legit)

I leave my school parking pass taped over my vin since I don't like things hanging from my rearview mirror. The added bonus is that it tapes over my vin

Technically you have to have a copy of your registration as well as picture ID, but not everyone at the dealership is on the straight and narrow

both my civics have tape over the vin. if somebody doesnt like it they can kiss my ***, they dont dont put in money or wrench time. ive had cops and my insurance see it, and i tell why its covered and they dont say another word. id rather be hasseled for having tape on it than find it gone cause some jackass got the vin and had a key cut. i know people at almost every dealership in my area cause we do so much work for them. they would cut me keys and not think twice about.
black tape = cheap insurance

good idea but i would go with the bus. card, im pretty sure u need some proff to get the key cut at dealer but u never know maybe theres ppl that know ppl that will do it for them and make bussiness of stilling cars
Yes. Providing rumors that most Honda dealerships require date of birth only to access the same key replica, but hey you never know if someone has the hookups.
I have had my entire dashboard replaced at the dealer (under warranty because the vinyl was bubbling) and my new dashboard does not have a vin plate
I've gotten that car smogged and the smog guy says hes seen a few cars that dont have vin plates on the dashboard. He said its fine as long as the other vin is on the car (door jamb vin sticker, and engine bay firewall vin stamp).
i dunno, just my 2 cents.

Ive had mine covered on my hatcmo since the day i got it. 3 years, countless parking tickets, moving violations, and other things...no one has said anything yet.
