B16 oil and tranny fluid questions
Trending Topics
im using 15/50 mobil 1 right now in my b16, im interested in seeing what you guys have to say about that. I never really asked why, just started using it. thats what my bro told me to use and i never questioned it.
I use Mobil 1 Synthetic oil 10w30, but I get this oil leak problem from the head....the same went with my friend's GSR using Mobil 1 Synthetic. another friend of mine who has a B16 had the same problem as us, but he switched to Valvoline Synthetic-Blend and the oil leak stopped.
Has anyone have the same problem using Synthetic oil?!
btw, I just added some GM SyncroMesh Friction Modified into my tranny before my car went down. Not sure if I had to break the tranny fluid in a little more, but I never got to notice any difference. 3rd gear grind was still partially noticable.

Kinda like splashing cold water on a burn....yeah its soothing...but its still a burn. Internal parts that are worn will not magically go back together with a fluid change....although a little lubrication never hurts!

nice analogy; may be the best way I could describe it....but yeah, I added that info just to stay on topic
