Default 89 civic stalls after about 5 miles of highway driving?

My 89 civic stalls after I drive it for about 5 miles on the highway... after it stalls it will not start for about 5 mins. I dont think its the fuel pump because I can hear it turn on everytime you turn the key and I just replaced it. Has anyone had this issue before?

Thanks

fuel filter?...
do you have adiquite fuel pressure?
maybe it has to do w/ your engine temp... maybe it is running too hot & your ecu doesn't know it... check the ECT sensor

I dont think that its the fuel filter becuase its consistant. I work about 6 miles from my house and i can almost make it to work without is stalling.... and its not over heating the temp is normal.

could be a lot of things. ignitor would be my first bet . because when they get hot they open up a circuit and quit working , distributor, wiring, or mfi relay, but we would need more information to get a better diagnosis.

I had this problem and it got progressively worse. Finally it would not restart at all. Turned out to be the coil.

First off, check the CEL to see what it is!

Look at the ECU and it will blink the code for you.
