i have a b18c1 in a crx, im using a b16a1 head and a obd0 pr3 ecu. the problem is that when i datalog i get a reading on the iat of 87-88 deg ferenhiet all of the time. i tried replacing the sensor, with a used one, and i still get the same reading. when i disconnect it i get disconnected from my logger but i dont throw a code and my idle starts surging. so i think it is seeing the iat but not sure. i also checked continuity from the connector to the shock tower and from the shock tower to the ecu pin c5 and c12. any ideas?

 

what are you using to log? mine goes from 80s to 120s depending on driving conditions

 

check the wires... one may be corrodded in one place... haha good luck w/ that one

 

using bre to log

 

The sensor has a 0-5v range...try testing the sensor off the intake manifold but still plugged in to the harness. Hold a low heat source under the sensor and see if the reading and voltage changes. If the motor has been turbo'd, you'll see some higher intake temps anyway. I run BRE on my setup, and I used to sit around 90F. on average boosted, and slightly higher during the summer. I haven't datalogged n/a yet though, so I don't know where the values sit at.
