Default 99-00 ebay projector headlights??

I just bought HID's for my civic HB and its blinding people because of the bright beam, so i thought if i bought projector healights it would have a better beam and not blind people. i was wondering if anyone would give there idea about ebay or any kind of projector headlights ,if its worth buying or not. If not then what would you recomend? I dont realy care how they look, I care more about the function.

Thanks eeeKs and RDix.

Ebay/Aftermarket Project headights have good and bad sides.

The benefits of aftermarket headlights is mainly the price/cost. For some they look good, and they are easy to install. Thus, a mod most people can do without paying extra money for someone to drop the bumper, install the headlights, etc.

One of the drawbacks is that the quality isn't that good. From plastic that is relatively brittle to OEM, and headlight sealant that is prone to leaking/condensation, to un-even fittment [larger/smaller gaps between the headlight and fender/hood/bumper] you need to realize that going from OEM headlights to aftermarket usually sets you back as far as quality. In essense you need to choose between quality or looks.

So, if you are choosing to go with the aftermarket projector headlights because they look different, and you want to personalize you car, then you need to keep "looks over quality" in mind.

Now, if you are getting those healdights in hope to improve the lighoutput, you are heading the wrong way. Those foglight projectors aren't meant to replace your lowbeam reflective halogen lamps. Nobody will actually say that those halogen projectors putout more light on the ground than the OEM headlights. Also, adding a set of HIDs to a halogen projector is also not a good idea, because "in short" those halogen projectors aren't designed for HIDs.

So ask yourseld, why you want those headlights.

Hope this helps, and have a relaxing Christmas.

got a question

I want to get some HIDs in my 99 coupe, I was thinking of projectors with HID conversion, I got quoted $200 for housing and $350 for the kit. Not sure if this is a decent price or not. But after reading this maybe, I'll just send my oem housing for retrofit to customlightz for $250.

Could anyone post up a comparison of retro HID and projector HID? which would you say is cleaner?

Has anyone sent work over to customlightz?
