I wrecked
Now do you want to do the mad jay dee emm tight B20K swap y0?
Got a story for you guys....
If you know me at all... you would know that I am a DIE HARD car guy through and through.
While at my traditional Christmas dinner with the dad's side of the family, my aunt's pastor was there. And he regularly, and annually brings foreign exchange students from various different European countries in to do their thing.
Well, one of the guys that was here this year, his name is Stephan (Stef-han) is from Hambourg, Germany. He is 18 years old, and just about to graduate high school at the high school I graduated from.
Stephan is an AVID car guy, just like me. Well, Stephan has ALWAYS loved, read about, and admired the Ford Mustang. Knows everything that I could ask him about it. He was even teaching ME of all people about the older 60's and 70's Mustangs.
But, being from another country, he told me he had NEVER seen a real Mustang in front of him. Not once. So having the "heart of a teacher" that I think I have been gifted with when it comes to cars, I invited him out to look at my new Mustang.
Needless to say, as he looked over the car, he was OVERCOME with excitement. Talking to himself the whole time, naming the features of the car as if he had owned one of his own.
Moving on... I asked his caretaker if he minded that I would take him for a ride... just so he could say that while he was here... he got to see a car he had only been able to read about up until now.
So we get in... I fire up the V8, and it rumbles in agreement. I look over, and Stephan has a grin on his face the size of a freakin watermelon. He lit up with so much excitement, that I thought I needed to tell him to calm down, that it was only a car.
We take off on our drive, and he falls in love with the car, listening to the rumble of the engine, feeling the bumps in the road, and the force as I romp down into the accelerator.
Long story short, I really think God put Stephan in my life, at this point, so he can remind me that, even though times may get tough, and when I am CONSTANTLY reminded of life's hardships, he is there. Showing me that, even in my hard times... someone... somewhere doesn't have access to things, people, and events like I do.
I mean, not just for the sake of the story, but I have it GOOD.
This guy from the opposite side of the world, comes over here, not thinking he will see his dream car, and it is shown to him without asking.
How much more, will God give to us as he sees fit, when he sees we are ready for certain things?
I may never see Stephan again... but I will never forget how I impacted his life, no matter how small or miniscule it may seem. Just KNOWING that I made some guy's life more enjoyable or whatever, is gift enough for me this Christmas. Seeing the joy on his face, the excitement of knowing that this was only read about 3 months ago... made my Christmas... even if it was hidden in the smile of a guy I have never met before.
As in the picture thread...
Christmas
's for my fellow car guys... Except Andy.
