What is the size of my muffler inlet and outlet? It is oem and the car is a 1996 hatch. Is it 2.5 inch or 2.25 inch?

Im buying a muffler that has a 2.25 inch inlet and outlet.... what do i need to do to install it on my stock system.

 

What'd u buy exactly? An axle back or just the exhuast tip?

Get a reducer pipe and it'll fit on w/ some welding - then just get hangers (b/c it's probably an e-bay fart can and they don't come with 'em). On the other hand if it's an actual exhaust it'll have hangers or you can use existing ones.

Though you'll still need a reducer pipe (they're cheap as ****).

take ur muffler with u to a exhaust shop and get a custom one done.. will have all hangers and all

 

So i can just take the muffler to midas for example and they will put it together with no extra parts on my side?

 

they all have parts there.. i wouldnt go to that place though.. but yeah they have the piping.. just be sure to tell them what u want and size
