Civic Rally Video
I found a bunch of short video clips on my old work hard drive last week while bored, so I put together this little compilation.
Has a bunch (20 or so) video clips of us, in the Civic in 2005 and 04. Watch it here:

Nice vid. Matt.
I've been trying to post Honda
pics. and video after almost every US and Canadian event. Here are some from the summer:

Bacon's type r, talked to him a couple days ago, blew it up good, looking for a new ITR longblock.

Chris Gilligan lives in NC, he runs an EVO 4 open car, PM me I can get you his contact.
There are two sanctioning bodies, Rally America and NASA. "Local" to NC would be:
Cherokee Trails (NASA) Chattanoga, TN, Gravel (Dont' think it's happening anymore, but was an awesome rally)
Sandblast (NASA) Cheraw, SC, Gravel
Rally Tennessse (NASA) Linden, TN, Pavement
Susquehannock Trail Rally (STPR) (RA) Wellsboro, PA, Gravel
That's three big ones, not that bad of a tow from NC.

Best bet, buy a used 2wd car, and start running events and the newest tires you can afford.

Thanks for all the info and links rallybird
. I'll send you a PM to get the contact info for "Chris". I have been doing a little research and it looks like the best thing to start out with is a 2wd car preferably a fwd. I'll probably try to start with a EG hatch because of so many parts being interchangable. I'm assuming they run rally events in the fall/winter time? I road race my 600RR during the summer about once a month so I would only be able to do a few events during the spring/summer/fall. I know that the tarheel sports car club which is the local nc club that puts on alot of autox's also puts on rallycross events. I figured I would do 1 or 2 of those to get the feel of the car on dirt before I actually went on a rally course. Those courses you mentioned are not that bad of a tow. I normally have to tow my bike from 3-7 hours to road race so I'm used to the drives to the track

Right on. I use to crew for an AMA Supersport team, they ran WERA Enduro series this year. Love tuning the bikes because the riders can actually give you meaningfull input on what the bike's doing vs. car guys which like to take stabs in the dark.....
The hatch is the way to go, it's lighter than my DC. The ITR will be worth more in the end, but if it's your first car, you may have to reshell at some time, and the hatch would be easier to find parts. If you build a hatch, build with an FIA cage, much lighter than a RA spec. cage. And go as big a motor as you can afford. There's been crap on here about 100hp being enough to win a G2 championship, and that might be right, but who wants to spend $800entry fee per event to drive a 100whp car? WTF, am I the only one that thinks this?
Were running snodrift and I can't wait. Some people are scared of running on ice at over 100mph on rubber tires, but it's a challenge, which is what rally is all about. If you can do well on every surface, than your a rally driver. Just the ability to go fast on gravel only or pavement only does'nt say much to me. This sport will teach you very much about your own limitations and how to be a very calculating driver. But if you ride moto, you already know the concequences of exceeding your own limits.......MTB'd yesterday with my buddy that 6weeks ago had screws put in his foot after big crash at the WERA Road Atlanta final....in moto, it's just part of the sport. The physical concequences are not as severe in this sport, but the addiction and $$ can be more so.....
Good luck!
