Well I went to the track today (Sacramento Raceway) and got a couple of passes in.
Best pass was:
reaction=.482
60ft=1.960
1/4=13.700 @96.939
set up is a jdm b16 completely stock head and block no work done to either.Running ITR manifold with a DC 4-2-1 header and GSR tranny...ran a velocity stack out the headlight and ran open header.Rolling on bogarts all around with 22x8x13 in the front and 22x3.5x15 in the rears.All in a 92 civic hatch si gutted of course.
I was just wondering why is my trap slower that what i ran back in october when i first swapped the motor which was 13.942 @ 97.045 that run was made on mickey thompsons 20x8x14's.
as of January 14th i ran a personal best of 13.415 with a 1.7 60ft still internally stock motor and all motor at that

Your honestly asking why your trap is a tenth of a mile per hour slower? Come on. Track conditions, weather, etc could EASILY show a tenth of a mile per hour difference.
I never went out there on sat. Is it a good time to run? Expensive? Lots of people?
My best time to date is a 14.0 @ 102mph with my new setup, full interior and all. I've never run slicks though so my best 60 is a 2.3, lol. Your times are very good for the traps you are showing. I'd be happy.

Very strong for a stock b16 in a 92 hatch. Most people here in Orlando area only manage 14.5-14.3 with the same mods.
Have you ran the car without the velocity stack before and have you ran it with the exhuast hooked up?
Either way Badass times. Keep us updated.

yea i guess it was just tripping me out i should be happy...
As far as coming out on a saturday, its cool not very many people so you can get some good runs in and try out new things...It's $50 to race and they are not as strict as they are at actual events

I agree, you can't expect to run the same times every trip to the track. One thing for sure is you should be doing alot better 60ft's. You gotta launch it harder if your going to justify the $1000 bogart slick package because your in drag radial range right now.

Were you bogging or spinning? If you were spinning drop the pressure a little, if you bogged then started to go raise the RPM and if that doesn't work raise the slick pressure.

Good time's.
FYI Reaction times have no bearing on your overall time. It's simply how fast you react to the light. The timing doesnt start until you have crossed the second stage beem.
Generally your 60ft's will have some bearing over your MPH. A lower 60ft usually nets a lower MPH and vice versa. Your times are so close that it is simply due to your driving half and end track.

Gearing....your tires are too big for the power you are making. You had the right setup with the 20 inch slicks for your power. With the 20s you should be able to cut a low 1.8 and run 1-2 mph more.
That's my opinion. I don't think you need to move up to a 22 until you are above 210whp...at least.

My friends stock B16 all motor EG ran 13.59 @ 101 with a 1.89 60. It had the stock clutch and ecu. He launched on the limiter which was at 8200 rpm and shifted a 8000 rpm. He used M & H 22x8.0-13 @ 9.0 psi. The engine put out 151 whp and 115 trq on the dyno. The stock clutch let go after 2 races so an ACT 6 puck was installed, the car went a little faster it ran a 13.53 @101. Keep in mind we race in Hawaii were are track is at sea level are corrected altitude is somewhere around 1400 ft.
Your trap speed depends on your 60ft.If your 60ft was a 1.9 for example,THen your speed would be 102.If it was a 1.7 60ft at 97MPH,Then your trap speed would be lower since U hooked up better.Very impressive ET on a stock B16a bro.Good Luck,Darrell
i cant beleive you got those times with a gsr trans. did you finish in third with those 22 inch slicks? it seems like you could gain a lot by switching to a b16 tranny. b16's feel like they dont have enough tourque to effectively use the gsr trans.
