Default Don't know if I am supposed to post this here..

This is really random I know, but I was just on streetfire.net watching videos and I saw these guys stick a leaf blower in the intake of an 05 civic si... At first the horsepower on the dyno read like 135 hp stock. After adding the leafblower, it just almost 40+ hp. Then I saw another video of a guy who actually had one rigged under the hood of his car. I certainly would never do this, but just wondering... Is that good? lol... I don't necessarily see what it would hurt, besides someones feelings...

Well, if you don't have a proper leaf blower tune, you can blow your engine by leaning it out too much.

Personally I would consider it the ghetto supercharger. I mean seriously though, if you rigged it up to a toggle switch and only kicked it on when you had the throttle wide open to mash it down you might get somewhere

135 to the wheel out of an 05 Si??! That's pathetic! That's like stock b16!

I would never try to run a leaf-blower on mine. Just too much hassel for a loss in power. I remember someone on this forum testing this same thing, and I think they lost power. Maybe it was an electric supercharger, which is pretty much the same thing. I'd rather bolt a snail to the front of my engine!

Im going to have to say youre blind and gullible at the same time.

I just watched the video. The baseline was 138whp... After JUST the leafblower, it gained 10whp, totalling 148.9whp.

I think you missed the 'naaawwwwwzzz' that they shot straight into the leaf blower in the last pull. Thats where you got that ridiculous 40whp gain from. It made 187.9whp with the leaf blower and some guy spraying nitrous (straight from the bottle) into the leaf blower intake.

Here's a link to the video.

Siht..I have my head up my ***!! I was thinking about the new Si!! The one with 197hp to the crank!! I'm an idiot. 138 is about right for the k20 with the anemic non-flowing head on it.
