ITR wont rev over 2200....
I have an 01 Integra Type R motor with turbo in a 00 Civic Hatch.... we just changed the head gasket and such and we put everything back together, started it up and it idles fine. i went to take it for a test drive and it wont let me rev over 2200 rpm?
it just bounches off 2200 rpm like thats where the rev limiter is set at. does anyone have any ideas of why this would happen? also, the power steering was removed a long time ago from this car but they left the main power steering fluid line that has the sensor on it. i removed that line and now the sensor is no longer there....would that set the check engine light on? it wasnt on before when the other power steering components were removed but now i remove the sensor and the CEL is on.
thanks in advance.

Jump the ECU, and see what the code's for.
Your symptoms sounds like the TPS... Check it with a volt meter, it should be around .46 at closed. If you have to adjust it, go for .50, I've heard that's better for some reason.
When I had ITBs, the TPS went bad... No CEL, it just wouldn't rev past 2,500RPM and ran like Hell. It didn't feel like a rev limiter, it would just straight die and drop down to idle, felt like it was slipping out of gear.
Anyway, we replaced it, calibrated it, and it ran great.
Good luck man.

Thanks for the quick response! I'll give that a try today and see what happens. I was thinkin TPS was a possibility but wasn't 100% so i figured I would shoot for a second opinion. hopefully it works out. thanks again! ill post after i mess with it

already tried the tps plug and map plug. i got the right one installed. but without the tps plugged in, it runs like ****. when i plug it in, it runs fine. so im gonna say probably not tps. knock sensor....i put a new one in cuz that was my guess the first time. still nothin. now heres what i did do which kinda makes me wonder. i have hondata hooked up. i unplug hondata from the chipped p28 ecu and i can rev up like normal. i plug hondata in, and rev limiter kicks in at 2200? im thinkin maybe it could be a tuning issue? im gonna get the datalogging cable for the hondata and hook it up to my laptop to get all the readings. maybe ill see some readings that arent like they should be. any other questions or ideas of what i should try, lemme know! thanks
thats what i swapped was the sensor connectors for the TPS and the MAP because i know they are the same connector, just different wires. I matched the ones up in a haynes book wiring diagram and made sure it was the right connector. i switched em for ***** and giggles and hoped it would work but no cigar. its got a 3 bar MAP sensor anyway so the factory MAP sensor wire connector just dangles there. im clueless as of right now. im gonna order that hondata datalog cable and hope it tells me somethin
