Default Stupid question: Will airbags deploy when...

Will the airbags go off when I connect the battery and start the car?

I ask because I just replaced blown ones with new ones. I have them mounted and the wires connected, but i havent connected the battery yet. Should there be any reason they would go off?

i have not reset the SRS brain.

if you havent replace the control module then they wont ever go off again. The modules are one time use only, i think.

Maybe call a dealer or repair shop and tell them your bags deployed. Ask them how much it will cost and what all needs to be replaced. If they want to replace some sensors or control modules, there might be a good reason behind doing so.

Why are you asking forum people? If you're not looking it up in the manual, the advice is no better than asking your girlfriend.

"Hey honey will my airbags blow if I connect them up to an already used airbag module"?

She'll probably tell you to look it up in the shop manual, the only information worth mentioning.

Page 24-8 in the EK/EJ manual

1) Replace the airbag module.
2) Check for burned wiring in the cable reel.

Why ask people on a forum? Gee i don't know maybe because there are people like me who are ASE master mechanics and do this for a living. Oh and take a stab at what my girlfriend does? Here's a hint, she could run circles around you trying to fix a car.

The SRS light will already be on regardless, because he said the SRS unit was never reset or replaced after the bags deployed.

Maybe you should have answered his question instead of getting offended? I took the time to look it up in the shop manual.

I like nothing better than a woman who can work on cars. Good for your girlfriend. If she's better than me, then that's wonderful and you should be proud.
