Default Help ID this noise

So I'm driving and I here this annoying buzz like noise when accelerating or high rpms. It sounds like metal is tapping and goes away when at lower rpms. What do you think it could be...oh and the shifter shakes more agressively too.

I'm beat, looked in books and googled.

Please help

can you duplicate the noise when at a stop? meaning just revving? where does it sound like its coming from.. 1100+.. you gotta give a little more to work with..

I dont have a tach and it sounds from the area of the shifter console.

heatshield most likely, wont do it unless its under a load. other than that, MILLIONS of things, go look around the area you hear it coming from.

yea i had the same problem. i took off all my heat shield. and problem solved. i put the car on blocks. and put it in first (very secured) and had a friend kinda gas it while i listened. and bam pinpointed to the heat sheild that goes above the exhuast right where the shift linkage is.
