What's the difference between a cold air intake and a direct air charger? or are they the same thing?

wtf is a dac? a ram air?
the diffrence is cold air goes into the fender well and sucks up cold air
ram air is just like a straight tub to 'ram' the air. the filter is in the engine bay

 

So there is no significant difference between the two ?

 

A CAI sucks cool air from the fenderwell. You make power.
An underhood, DAC style intake sucks hot air from the engine bay. You loose power.

If you use an extension for teh DAC system, does this help? since you can have it suck air from behind teh lights or fender wehre ever they put it... and another thing, what is the eg or ek motor?

The Extension of the DC Sports D.A.C is crap. They use # inch tubing which is great for a short intake. If you decide to extend the length of the intake with an extension, you're increasing total VOLUME which is bad for the whole "sucking air through the straw" theory. You loose power across the band because it's too big a volume

 

the AEM is dyno proven to make power. Iceman, DAC, INJEN...there all pretty close to being the same thing.
