Default Being turbo + shifting gears.. what to do and don'ts .. ie Banging gears?

i never officially learned the truths and myths on being turbo and racing it.. ie im hearing ppl say "dont bang gears when your turbo" (to let out all the gases and fumes so wastegate & blow off valve lets off all excess air?) also other misc stuff im hearing between driving it NA vs being Turbo.. IS THERE ANY REAL DIFFERENCe / GOOD OR BAD when beating on a NA car vs a Turbo Car..

If its built and tuned correctly you can drive it anyway you want to. The main difference driving a turbo honda is that, if you did it right, when you floor it in a corner the front end heads for the trees and you smell burning rubber.

^-lol.

The biggest problem I've seen is honda transmissions dont take to kindly to grabbing gears hard, splines like to shear off when your making 3-4x the power your car came stock with. (300+hp) But I guess that just comes with the territory.

i was banging gears left and right with no problem @ 300hp.... when your on street tires you cant full throttle it in 1 and 2 gear and sometimes 3rd because tires will break loose.

so banging gears is safe and wont break axles, damage trannies, ruin motor , break off piping cause of excessive force not escaping? this is for 300 and under wHP

under 300 is gonna be pretty durable assuming the build is done right. my b16 turbo is all stock except for a clutch and sparkplugs and I beat the hell out of it every single day with no problems. It around 320whp. Generally it's the shock load of dumping the clutch that breaks driveline parts...there are people running 10s on stock trannys so i dont really worry about it.

I see it taking a toll on your synchros. Ever notice how alot of peoples 3rd gear grinds. The cause of that is the slamming of third gear 98% of the time.

lol, yeah right. You can break all that with stock hp, if you drive it the wrong way. You can shift fast, as long as your good, but its still excessive abuse. Spinning the tires, is a lot easier then your car hooking as far as driveline shock goes. You don't have to worry about gasses escaping though, thats what the blow off is for. Shift fast, but be smooth.

Also, if you did it right.... You should be able to start in second at 2000 rpm's, hit the gas, and by 3500 be spinning the tires, straight line

If you are making alot of power its easier on the trans to lift. Do it too slow and you'll fall out of boost.
