Just picked up a 91 si hatch and I dont really know to much about the ef style hatches i used to drive a 94 civic ex with standard z6 with boltons and a 4dr 95 integra so not to sure waht i need anyway. i have the shell and a full d16y8 motor swap i need to know what kind of mounts i need for the cable to hydro tranny conv. will the stock ones work?? also what kind of jumper harness am i gonna need? i looked in the faq but it appears all of the faqs were not a full swap just a head swap at least what i saw any help would be greatly appreciated im in the process of doing the body work and paint right now but the motor will be going in soon.
try http://www.zdyne.com for a jumper harness. i am going to be trying one of them when i swap a y8 head onto my a6
Engine Mounts - There are currently no D-Series Hydro --> Cable mounts available to my knowledge. So if you want to use the Hydraulic transmission be prepared for some custom fab work and realize as well you will not have a front engine mount. That becomes a problem if the three remaining engine mounts are not strong enough to stop the torquing of the motor. When swapping in the D16Y8 longblock itself, the engine mount bracket attached at the timing belt needs to be replaced with one from a D15B1 / B2 / B6 or D16A6.
Electronics - Run OBD-1 Computer chipped with proper P2P (Believe thats the D16Y8 ECU Code) maps. No matter what people say, the two engines (D16Z6 & D16Y8) run off different timing / fuel maps. This is the one-stop source for all your computing needs http://www.rywire.com, no ifs ands or buts.
