'94 Keeps Shutting Off While Driving
My '94 (automatic tranny) has cut off on me three times in the last week while driving (twice on the Interstate) It hasn't been making noise that I notice or anything, but the "check engine" light comes on and the car stops. I have always manged to steer it to the shoulder. I have to shut it off for a couple of minutes, but then it starts right back up. Last night it shut down. I started it back up and while running, the battery and oil lights came on. The only common thread is that this seems to happen when the car isn't warmed up enough. Does anyone have any thoughts or insight on this?
First thing to do would probably be to try to find out what the code is the CEL is showing.
When was the last time it was in for a tune up?
I would suggest stopping by an Advanced or someplace along those lines, have them check your battery/alternator and pull the CEL

check to make sure the alternator is working properly. Usually when the dummie lights go off at the same time, its your alternator not working properly. Autozone and places will test it for you if you need. Make sure the terminals are tight on your battery too.

happened to me when I first got my '94 accord checked and tightened all grounds and 80K later problem had not returned.

The verdict is in ---
Problem: Main Relay. The engine was not getting enough gas, hence the shutting down problems. Tech was surprised this happened during the fall/winter because this typically occurs during the summer months, with over heating, etc. VERY inexpensive to fix. Needless to say, I am an extremly happy Honda girl once again.
