Default Totaled? Accident pictures inside...

Had a little run in with a guardrail today. Does the car look totaled? I'm thinking the insurance company will end up totaling, but I really hope they don't. I know it's just a car, but tons of good memories tied up in that heap and I'd like to continue with it. Thanks for any input.

Dont know if you have airbags. but if they deployed. im positive its gonna be totaled out.

But either way. I think the car is totaled.

its gonna cost more to have it fixed then what the ar is worth in terms for the insurance company...so most likey it will be totalled out, but then you can buy it back real cheap from the insurance company

that makes no sense, ive been in a few accidnets w/ airbags being deployed that were MUCh worse than that and the car wasnt totaled.

EDIT!!! throw that bitch on a frame machine, sure it wont be 100% but it will be damn near close, fenders, rad support, hood lights ac ocndesor, radiator, bumper support and a nice tug on the frame machine, some paint, it'll look good as new. id take it to a body shop w/ a frame machine and see what they say. again, ive seen much worse get fixed

Frame's most definitely bent and the insurance company will mark it as totaled.

It's fixable though. Needs a good 2 - 6 hours on the frame machine though (including setup).

He has a point, it makes a lot of sense.

I can honestly say for all the totaled cars I've seen 7 times out of 10 if the airbags are deployed the car is totaled. It's a very good indicator. The other 3 are when he hits something going 3 mph and they deploy or some stupid **** like that.

Body damage worse than that with airbag deployment and the car isn't totaled = shitty insurance adjuster.

It also depends on what kind of car you were in when the bags deployed, take his hatch. Over 10 years old.. The body work would cost more than the insurance company has the car valued at... so they will probably total it.. Newer cars however hold their value (because they are newer) and if the body repair doesnt exceed the original value of the car, its less likely they will be totalled out..

that car is gone but if you really want to keep it then buy it back for like $100 and use the check to pay for the damage. Idk if it will cover the whole thing tho..

Wow! That looks almost identical to my guardrail incident, black hatch and all!

Trust me, that's totaly fixable if you REALLY want to keep it, but they're gonna total it.

Let insurance handle it then buy it back and part it out. Then throw the shell to the big bad machine.

Thanks for all the replies, everyone. As much as I'd love to keep this car, if there's extensive frame damage then I'm just going to call it a loss and start over. Just won't be the same anymore. Hopefully I can buy it back pretty cheap from the insurance company so I can reuse some of the parts.

Im an adjuster for progressive and ins point of view....its beyond totalled......put factory stuff back on (susp, motor, interior electronics, ect..) and let that car go....unless you can fix it for cheap
