Difference in internals of different generations of b16s?

Now I know that all the years came with the same basic specs (half a compression point here and there). My question is does anything in the bottom end change? Maybe the actual forgings of the internals are different? cause I had an obd0 b16 about half a year ago that melted a con-rod bolt on me, and I have another obd0 b16 now thats starting to get a clunk somewhere below the head...
Should I step up and buy a later model year engine? Is there something inherently flawed with the early models? Or is it just the fact that its an aging motor? Or are b16 bottom ends just not friendly on stock components for auto-x / road course use? Some guidance, please.
P.S. I searched and couldn't find a specific thread addressing this.

15 year old engine, being beat on every day and revved to 8k for 15 years then sold to you...its not the engines fault we all know honda motors can go for 300,000+ miles, but the owners are

ok.
a) definitely not beat on everyday, i barely crack open 4k driving to work, and even the japs have gotta give it a rest from time to time.
b) so where does Password and HMO get the avg. 55k-60k miles thing from?

im not saying you,,its just that old engines have wierd history,,,,like my b16 from hmotors..Doing research i found out i had a 1st gen b16a block from the integra,,a 2nd gen b16a head from the 92+,,and a 1st gen sir intake manifold,,with a ctr exhaust manifold,,and that's how it came right from hmotors....i dont know how they come up with that mileage,,i emailed them about that and they gave some bullshit resonse that in japan the engine has to be taken out after 30k miles or some **** like that....but whatever,,the point is you dont know how it was treated in japan by the og owner,,but chances are it was beat on.

That's some whacked out ****. And why the hell would they have to pop out their engine at 30k miles?
Seems like a load of bs from where I'm sitting (and I'm looking at buying one of Steve's GSRs..)

it very well could be, but for a pretty much straight forward bolt in motor swap on an EF, i guess its what you have to deal with
.
hopefully an h22a with new bearings, ARP
head, main and rod bolts, balanced stock crank and rods and like 11.0:1 CR should hold up under some abuse at pocono
see you guys there this summer.

regulations to have a car are very strict. so they often find it cheaper to get a newer car that does not have to pass inspections as much as the older ones. witht hat being said people just sell their cars and are parted out to make bank with the us because we buy their parts.. look it up on google. u will find usefull info.

Owning a car in Japan is very expensive. The older your car is, the more taxes and fees you have to pay for it.
To the OP: how well do you maintain your motors? Do you check the fluids regularly, especially before and after the track?

I'm a **** about fluids. 5w30 in the gearbox every 3 oil changes, oil change every 2500 and about 100 before every track day. I never let gaskets go (I don't care if its a god damn slow drip, I'll fix it), and I adjusted the valves not that long ago, so the top end is in good shape.
