Default just installed new speakers but need help

hey i just bought infinities REF9612I for the back and the REF6012I for the rears for my 02 accord coupe. after i installed them and listened to them, the bass is REALLY quiet. i think my factory speakers had more bass. if it wasn't for my 12s in the trunk, i woud be very displeased. what i'm asking is did i installed the speakers wrong or something? the bass for my headunit is all the way up and the equalizer is set so that bass is up too. is there anything else i could check? did i connect it wrong? please let me know. thanks

Did you use speaker adapter harnesses or did you just cut the plugs off? Maybe you wired them out of phase??

Do this... Disconnect your subs for a minute, then fade your speakers to the rear. Then, turn the balance to the left or right. Listen to how they sound by themselves. Is there more bass when the balance is all the way to the left or right? Does the bass "go away" when you put the balance to the center?

i've already tried that. it sounds the same in each speaker and in the center. so i'm guessing this is just how the speakers are gonna sound? have you heard of any reviews from anyone that has these speakers?

Alright... What are you using for source equipment? Aftermarket deck or factory radio?

I've got the same speakers and they have tons of bass. I'd say you wired them wrong or your deck is sending the lower frequencies to the sub woofer.

Does the HU have an internal crossover that's set? Also, are you running an amp? They're rated at 100 watt RMS, so deck power is certainly not enough to produce the lower frequencies on most aftermarket speakers.

i also have an 02 coupe and i installed eclipse speakers and they rock! I was an installer for 5 years and it sounds like they are out of phase. You need to unhook all of your speakers except 1 in the rear and see how just that 1 sounds at a certain level. then hook up the other rear and check if the stereo is louder at that level, ...it should be by quite a bit. If not quite a bit louder then you have the pos-neg backward on 1 of the speakers. Repeat this step for the fronts. If this all checks out you may just have crappy speakers.

If his sub(s) is (are) out of phase with the rest of the speakers, yes, the bass will get louder once the sub(s) is (are) disconnected.
