i need a new battery
i need a new battery. i have been looking around on summitracing.com and on this forum and i can not find a batter that fits my 99 integra. the dimension are about 5x8x9 inches. I am looking into optima red top and odyssey batteries, but none of them carry my size. i have an interstate that died so i do not want to get another interstate. does anyone know where I can get a good battery that will fit my car and not pay an arm and a leg for it? thanks
Generally I just roll w/ an OEM honda for about $60. Sure its made by somebody else and only last around 4yrs, but it looks OEM. Did the same w/ the lexus and it came w/ an 84mo warranty.....gotta see how long it really lasts though.
i totally agree with you guys. batteries don't last forever and they are not really a priority in any performance or racing applications. all it does is give off 12v right and as long as it does that, then it should be sufficient. however, i was curious as to what battery will have the highest cold crank amp that can still fit my car. maybe it is overkill, but recently, it has been sub zero around where i live.

Exactly... don't forget the "R" part. for reverse polarity.

No, it isn't.
Last year I needed to replace the battery in my Integra. I was looking for a conventional, OEM-size battery with lots of CCA and a long warranty (at least 7 years, although 8 is even better). I checked prices at Autozone, Sam's Club, Wal-Mart, Acura dealers, independent mechanics, etc. I found that the least expensive battery BY FAR was at Costco. It was $37 for a battery with a 100-month warranty. It's labeled with Costco's Kirkland house brand, and is made by Johnson Controls, a leading battery manufacturer (who also makes the Optima battery). Everywhere else (including Autozone) wanted anywhere from $55 to $110.
If you're looking for a smaller, lightweight battery, you can get the Odyssey battery (which I'm using in my other car). The Odyssey manufacturer website says that you can use their smaller PC680T battery. You can also use the PC925T battery but you would have to place it on its side. I found the best prices on Odyssey batteries at Portable Power Systems. However, most folks will be very happy with the conventional battery that Costco sells for $37.

I am saying I have never had a problem with the regular Auto Zone battery. That is me personally. I am using the optima (which you are right in saying it's pricey, $110 is right) as a Stereo battery as a secondary.

All cars need roughly 25 amps per cylinder. The higher the CCA the easier it is to fire up your car. When it says the CCA on the battery. Divide that in half because that is your TRUE cranking power

thanks guys. i really like the PC925. it looks like it will be a wonderful replacement for my interstate, but if anything wrong with it, i'll have to ship it back to the store and the warranty is only 12 months. with that said, I am leaning towards getting a cheapo from costco. the warranty is good and the price isn't too much. if anything wrong with it, i can just bring it to my local costco nearby. convenient is the key to this dilemma and the less hassle down the road, the better.

Makes sense. Like I said, unless you're obsessed about weight savings and/or racing your car competitively, the advantages of the lightweight Odyssey probably don't matter.
Incidentally, in case you're wondering about the difference between the Odyssey PC925T, which I mentioned, and the PC925, which you mentioned, the "T" refers to the fact that the battery includes terminal posts. The PC925 doesn't come with terminal posts, so you have to add those.
