ok i got a b18b head on a b18a block i was wondering my valve lash are set for b18a head specs is there a differnt between the two head

Factory spec for the B18B and B20B/Z is:

Intake: 0.003"-0.005"
Exhaust: 0.006"-0.008"

factory spec for the b18a1 is:
intake:0.005-0.006
exhaust:0.007-008

 

if you're are using a b18b head i'd go with the b18b specs for the valve lash just my 2 cents

 

well, the blocks are the same as far as bore and stroke, so the piston should go up to the same height you'd think. so it'd make sense that the reasoning for the differences in valve lash has to do with the head. so yeah, b18b specs i'd think.

I have a B18A and the Helms states .003-.005 Intake and .006-.008 Exh

Don't know where you got your B18A specs from.

Edit: the specs you gave for the B18A are for the VTEC B17A1, well close:

and .007-.008 Ex

Those specs might be for the 90-91 (130hp) version of the B18A in that thread.

The 92-93 (140hp) version is definitely what I posted.

 

oh my bad that spec was a guess lazy to get my helms but my lash is off on the intake its at .6
