I have just installed a Comptech B-pipe and muffler and there is about 2mm of clearance between the resonator and the heat shield so there is some rattling going on. I tried yanking on things, which helped a little, but what I really need is 1 cm longer hangers for the B-pipe.

The stock hanger is 80mm long with the holes 10mm from each end - anybody know a source for a slightly longer one? I tried the local auto stores but they have a pretty limted selection.

 

maybe take the car to a exhaust shop. they should be able to heat up the hangers a little and bend it down to give you the clearence you need.

 

Have you tried to bend the head shield? Or, maybe you could take it out all together as long as the resonator doesn't touch the floorpan (that would be kina stanky).

On the other hand (last resort), I've got some polyurethane ones that are have a couple of different settings...stock, then +.75",(-1%).5". I have one pair for sale. I doubt I'm ever gonna sell them for what they're really worth, so you can have them for $10 shipped.

 

Auto parts store, you may have to modify one that is too long (drill or enlarge holes) to make it fit.

Heat shield approach will not work I think - it is rubbing at the extreme top so if I removed it it would just rub the body instead.
