Default Worth the casH?

Somebody is gonna sell me their b18A1 for around $150. only includes head and block. He said some sound is comming from the head but is drivable.

I really want a b18, but is this worth it? im swapping it into a ej8 which is OBD2, this engine is OBD0 i think. Worth the 150? or will this swap end up running me well over 700+ after everything? Dont need the engine in right now, but thought 150 would be a good deal. Is this swap do able? I searched a bit, but most of the swaps are for putting it into a 89-91 or somethin like that.

i wouldnt do it unless you talk him down to 50 cause its gona nickle and dime you to death you better off getting a full swap especially if you dont allready have a garage full of parts. the motor can be converted to obd2 cause its just the head and block no sensors.

but all those sensors have to be from a B-series engine i take it.

As far as nickle and dime, ive never jumped onto a swap before...i know about the mounts, tranny, Dizzy and axles and probably intake/exhaust mani......yea that might be alot of cash.

most full swaps are around 1k anyway.

i would go with a d16y8 swap... will probly be faster... and you can use your tranny and stuff.. that motor might be worth $100-150 to someone that needs just a motor.. but to someone doing a swap thats worthless.. you would be no closer to do a swap then if you had just a ls ecu..

well lets say you buy it....you still need trasmission, axles, shift linkage, mounts, ecu, fix the problem with the engine...and if it doesnt have an exhaust manifold or any of that then you have to get those too...and you will need to covert it to obd 1 or 2...
