Default picked up a 90 hf with a b16 in it.. project thread 56k beware

so i picked up a 90 hf with a obd0 b16a and a j1 trans. it has aftermarket rota wheels on it, and ground control eibach coils on it as well, projector style headlights and leather gsr seats. so, since i already own a 90 dx that is in a shitload better shape, i am in the process of putting the b16 in my 90 dx, as well as the wheels, coilsw, seats, and the projector style lights.

well, thanks to old man winter, i hit a snag with the damn snow storm that is blowing through today. i got the b16out 2 days ago, got my d15b out lastnight and in the middle of the snow storm this morning i got the passenger trans and the engine mount bolted into my dx. so the engine is sitting in the dx waiting for the damn snow storm to clear. then i can finish the wiring, wire the ecu (pr3), and put on the rear trans mount. i also had to get a new passenger axle cause ther boot was torn and a new torque rod bushing for the shift linkage cause that was shot.

now, why do you ask didnt i just use the hf that i bought.. well, the body is trashed like non other. it needs paint, the front and rear bumpers were rivited on.. so yea.. that a project for another day.

and for those who want to know how much i got it for, 2100. yea some might say WTF too much, but i feel that with the b16, the wheels, the seats, and the coils that i have apssed the 2100 price i would sopend if i got this stuff seperately.

p.s. pics to be comming soon. (when the snow is gone)

$2100 for a running b16 and crx? That's a steal IMO. I can't find a CRX for 2100, much less one with a b16 in it.

thanks for the support. yes dropping the b16 in yesterday morning when it was blowing snow at 15mph sucked *****. i am also glad to know that i didnt get flamed for the price i picked her up for. i was worried about that. but its good to know that i got it for a decent price. as for the black one, it will be my girlfriends, but it needs all new steering components. other than that, it is ok, but all the tie rod ends bushings and ball joints are shot beyond hope.. i work at advance auto, so i get 20% off, but it still around 300 in steering **** and new shocks.

i got my dx defrosted overnight in the garage and will finish it up when i get home from work at 3pm today. hope to have her running and on the road tonight. will post more pics when i am done.

Leather GSRs FTW!

I'm amazed at your tenacity to drop an engine in the middle of a snow storm.

I've barely seen a snowflake this year . Keep up the good work!

lol. Damn I hate winter. i did a clutch swap in my friends crx when it was bellow 0 in his damn garage. Nothing like holding the ice cold tranny up with bare hands when you under the car hopeing that your friend can get a bolt started. Lots of good memories working on cars but that one I would classify as a bad memory.

WOOT WOOT!!! thats 250 i dont have to spend as for the shitty news, the god damn TPS broke. .. so i need another one i am also waiting on the torque rod bushing cause ******* acura was closed today, and the streets were plowed.. bullshit i say.

Damn,Snow in your motor. That looks cool,At least i know what a Honda motor will look like painted white.Yea,Anyways,U got a good deal on the car.The full B16a swap with a tranny costs about 1300,Shift linkage,150,Mount kit 350,Axles,200,And wiring already fopr the V-Tec which is around 150 and the car alone with stock blue book is around 1500 so I can say U saved a grip of cash bro.Good luck with Snowy White Racer. The swap looks clean.TTyl Darrell

I like my winters, give me time to do major projects on my cars and customer cars.
