07 Si sedan invisible bra, mask, rock guard?
dont know the exact name for it, but the 3m clear protective masking they make for cars..anyone have a kit on there si or for that matter have one in general? opinions?
i dont know how well the paint on these cars handles pebbles, sand, ect,ect.. my girls 03 maxima was dark blue and by time it got traded in it looked like she drove around all day every day behind a sand truck... her 05 altima doesnt seem to be getting the same type of beating as the maxima and her driving route hase'nt changed, the altima is silver, but it still doesnt have anywhere near the chips in it the max did, not even close..so i'm guess they nissan changed something over those 2 yrs...
we just bought her an 07 si sedan(fiji blue) and its not gonna start being used daily until sometime in march, but i'm curious if i should get a clear bra for it or if the paint on these cars can deal with her commute better then her maxima did..
between the sanding of the roads in the winter and just the fact that sand trucks run up and down the L.I.E every night, she is gonna come in contact with the **** at some point or another...
any input would be helpfull...
thanks, jay

paint on the new civics is horrible
whatever it costs is a good investment

I bought my 06 Si (Fiji Blue) about 1.5 months ago and had the dealer put it in the contract (I even got them to knock the price down significantly). It has already paid off. I live in Eastern WA and the winters here are brutal......more because of the road sandings than the snow and wetness. Another plus is that it won't fade your paint or end up with moisture damage like a leather bra will.
Definitely worth the $$.....

I got the 3M clear bra extended kit. The bra covers 80% of the hood, side mirrors, front lights, and door edges. It cost me $695 but well worth it. It looks great and really is hard to see.
Word, I got the 3M setup - covers hood, front bumper, HFP LIP, fenders, mirrors and got some foglight protecant film too. Cost me about $400 installed because of a phat hommie hookup.
HIGHLY recommend this... its an investment that will pay off in the long run... almost impossible to see and say bye-bye to those nasty chips and ****.

I agree with what everyone else said, this is one of the best investments you can make towards preserving your car's paint. I had one of the extended protection kits on my STi and when I sold it, the buyer was amazed at the condition of the paint, not many Subaru owners can say that after even 1 month of our winter roads.

I also own a '07 Si Sedan and I've already tried getting the clear bra installed. I've called two 3M-certified shops in the Seattle area and none of them have the kit for the 4-door Si yet.
Let me know if you get yours done. I haven't driven my Si as much lately because I'm afraid of another paint chip. I already got one and I've only had the car for a month!
But the clear bra is definitely worth it! The best price I found was $695 for installation. Try getting a package deal on the clear bra with window tinting if you can. Make the shop work for you!
I'm still waiting to hear back from the shop about availability. I need to follow up with them too!
Look for an installer near you: http://solutions.3m.com/wps/po...ller/

What is different about the SI 4-dr from any other Civic 4-dr with regard to where clearbra needs to be applied? The bumper appears to be the same, as do the hood and mirrors. The grille appears to be the only difference. A call to a Honda dealer for part numbers should confirm this.

I asked the 3-M installer the same question. He told me the 4-door Si's front bumper is different from a Non-Si 4-door. I didn't believe him at first, but that's what he insisted.
The other shop I called said they have a 2004 Si clear bra and they could make it fit. That shop sounded like they didn't know the 2004 is different from a 2007, so I never called them back. It sounded like they didn't know what they were doing or know the different models of Civics.

I have the 3m on my fa5. You need to go to a 3m installer that does not use a pre cut kit. My 3m guy custom fits to every car. I did the entire front bumber, portion on the hood, and headlights, foglights, stip on rear bumper, and door sills. Well worth the $.

The pre-cut kit was installed on my car and fits absolutley prefectly. I really see no advantage in going with a non-precut especially since they trace it out with a razor on your car.
Why did he say that a "custom" cut kit was better just out of curioustiy?

Do you still need the clear bra kit for your 07 Si sedan? I can manufacture a kit for your specific application. I use the 8-mil VentureTape clearcoat film. The pores are sealed on this film offering a low maintenace high gloss loook which I believe is far superior to the 3M product which is much more expensive due to the brand. Just let me know...
