99-00 Si blue paint problems
The paint on the hood of my 99 Si looks really bad, almost like it is flaking under the clear coat. (if that makes sense) I was talking to a guy in one of classes today that has the a 00 Si and he had the same problem and took it to the dealer and they repainted his hood. It seems to only happen with the Si Blue.
Is anybody else having this problem?

I currently don't have any pictures, but I'll get a camera from work today and post some up to see. It looks like crap.

Has anybody else had this problem? I am going to Honda today or Monday and see what I can get out of it.

I thought that the OEM factory paint is the best paint you'll ever recieve and that body shops can never paint as well as the factory. Is this true?

Also because the factory completely dips the car in cleaner. NO shop can get a car that clean and keep it that clean while they paint!

hmm mine is not exactly on the hood, but...on my left fender, has a huge *** paint chip. Basically the size of a 50 cent piece, it looks hideous. It completely chipped off and what you see is the fender which is flat black, and i was skeptical as to whether the dealership would cover this under the warranty. Because thats some bullshit, I only had my Si for a year or so, it's ebp as well.

Nope. My paint job is absolutely perfect - no scratches, chips, cracks, etc.; it's one of the reasons I bought this particular car. I believe it was garage-kept by its former owner.

That's the problem with mine, its garage kept by me and the person that owned it before me. So far I know 2 people here that have problems with the Si blue flaking off and when I went to Honda today I was told that I probably have too many miles on my car ( I don't know how mileage affects paint?) but I would have to come back and talk to the service manager.

I'm pretty sure that the paint warranty is measured in years not miles. I think it is either 6 or 8 years. Ask a salesman at the dealership and act like your interested in buying a car.

Re: 99-00 Si blue paint problems (turbosol)
I talked to a salesman that I purchased my previous car from (prelude) and he said that my si should be covered, I need to talk to a service advisor/manager.

Dunno what to tell you man. See if you can find any EBP Prelude or CRV owners and ask them if they've had any problems. I know someone with an EBP CRV locally; I'll try to talk to them if I get a chance.

I have 70,000 exactly (it just turned tonight), That's what my Honda Dealer is saying is too many miles. I am going to talk to the service manager Monday and maybe even his manager.
