my rex wont start, b16a in it btw.... i checked everythign no fuses are blown charged battery... this started last night.. i moved my battery in the back and it didnt start so i moved it back in the front and it started right up went to my friends house then went to get food... it didnt start then.. so i got a jump drove home... the next day (today) it wont start so i charged battery and nothgin... i checked everythign power going to starter, there is no voltage drop anywhere all grounds are fine ...tapped the stater a bunch and nothing... all it does is click

i need help asap!!! i dont have a car and i really dont want to change the starter i dont have anymoney!!! someone please help has this happeed to anyone>????????

 

sounds like your main relay is bad. Have the car in neutral and have your friend try the key while you lightly tap on the starter. If it starts then you need a new one

 

could be a bad battery also, just because it shows 12 volts doesn't mean it has the proper cold cranking amps. Take it in and get it tested, that is the most likely problem. Or your battery cables are not tight.

 

Tap the starter? You mean directly wire it right?

 

could try that and do a remote start. I find to diagnose a bad starter when someone is trying the key a good tap on the starter can get it to start sometimes indicating the problem

 

try jumping the constant wire to the signal wire on the starter, while the key is in the on position then report back.

 

I just had the same problem with mine...Turned out that the pos wire terminal had just enough corrosion in it that I wasnt getting a good contact. A little bit of steel wool to clean it up and she purred like a kitten.
