sup fellas, just finished changing my valve cover gasket, when i went to slap back on the valve cover to tighten it down their are four screw at each corner right? well on one corner the screw is complety striped and the screw does't not tighten at all!. My question is do they have the screw at the dealer or am i screwd?

 

Yes, you probably need the stud replaced. Use that same screw on another stud to see if it tightens down, if so, then it is the stud you need replaced, not the cap nut. Its only a few bucks and when you look at it, you can see how easy it is to install.

My local hardware store had chrome 6mm cap nuts, but the stud is only at the dealer.
