Default Hey everyone new here 1997 gs b20b swap

hey everyone whats up new here 1997 gs my engine just went like a week ago and i swapped my motor to a b20b and want to know if anyone what you guys think if i would put a gsr head on top so get back to me?

welcome.


if your going to slap on a gsr head dont do it. b20 block is meant not to be reved past 6k-7k. if you do a basic slap on with a gsr head your going to want to rev it higher and it will be in more risk of spinning a bearing in your rod. if you balance the **** out of your block and built it then you can pull over some real good numbers with a nice valvetrain, pistons, rods, etc.

i have a b20vtec stock block, b16 head, and i beat the **** out of it and it still moves like a ****. i dont go past 8k though. its only as reliable as its builder

i already have the b20 in there so wat in u guys opinions would be the best thing to do just build the this motor or put a different head on it and if you can please be specific

While the head is off, pull the piston/rod assemblys and have ARP rod bolts installed and the large end of the rod resized. Then swap in some fresh rod/main bearings and the VTEC head and your set to 8K. Also RS Machines has some ITR copy 84 mm pistons that will raise your compression to really make it sing.

a honda/acura without vtec is like my dog without *****..... useless...

Im talking about stock. If you boosting thats a different story..

I say b20/vtec

do it right though.. we dont want you to be here, 2 weeks after you drop the motor in, complaining that you have a hole in your block or something similar
