SAFC is a BARE minimum for tuning a turbo, and im suprised ur actually doing it.

Although converting to obd1 would give u more options, u can do everything u need with obd2.

emanage is a good start, or if u have $$, try EMS.

As he said, wrong forum

"Converting" to OBD-1 sounds more difficult and costly than it really is. You can put together a nice setup with a chipped ECU that will be relatively inexpensive and offer a great deal of tuning capability.

I was actually considering it myself since I don't want to go OBD I either. They also came out with an e-manage ultimate which is supposed to have more points in which you can tune. From what I heard though hondata is still better becuase it has some more features.

Yeah, it is rather simple.

buy ecu

buy conversion harness

I paid a total of $400 to "convert" my civic and that included a laptop for tuning

Are you trying to stay OBD2 and pass emissions and all that?

E-Manage.

Edit: I just noticed where you're from. What color Si do you drive? I'm in J-ville, and mine's is the black one with the Mugens.

Actually yeah I'm trying to stay OBD 2. I really don't want to convert even though it's probably better, thanks for the advice. I drive a black civic as well, I'm down in Miami though.

With an AEM EMS I'd have to change all the sensors though wouldn't I. I've also heard that the car won't run as smooth as it was before. Can someone make it clear because I am clueless about it.

I just got my turbo kit in and im running the emanage...its not fully tuned at the moment, but it works. My tuner is telling me to get Apex'i Power FC. Im putting that into consideration rite now, but thats pretty pricey..about 950$. My emanage cost me around 250 and I got a plug n' play harness from Boomslang fabrications which cost me 180..makes it real simple

You are not going to be running 20 psi in a b16 with only pistons and rods. Even with better head studs, the motor would be finished within a VERY short time.

E-manage Ultimate is a good tool that can be tuned as well as a chipped ecu can, although I have to confess I don't know what exactly the E-manage blue can do.

If you have no emissions, go OBD1. If you do, then e-manage will work for you and work much better than the SAFC since it relies on a MAP hack before the ECU that makes you run rich all the time whereas the e-manage actually connects to the injectors and edits the voltage AFTER the ECU is involved. The problem with SAFC and obd2 is that the obd2 has an ability to self-correct with issues regarding fuel.
