Default JDM OEM parts information

before you go thinking you have a smart *** answer ie passwordjdm or jdmshit. read this through.

due to the fact that no one checks the parts discussion forum anymore, i figured i would have a little discussion of my own, specifically i wondered if anyone else has done indepth research on where exactly to source your own jspec parts, ive researched through honda worldwide and they did not source any places for parts. ive also checked the japanease dealerships, but unfortunately i am only capable of translating so much, one idea is to call the dealerships and hope one of the employees retained the english they learned throughout school, and you also need to be willing to pay a big phone bill. also, would they even ship small quantities to the us? im tired of having to pay a cut to these places like password and jdmshit etc, as tuners we are entitled (i think) to get our parts for a reasonable price. and frankly paying password as much as we do for parts we can get for less just doesnt make sense, except for availability. now by no means am i trying to undermind password or any of these companies who have taken a risk and made it, but we need to stay competative, and we need MORE, much MORE, if it is possible to get any USDM part for the EF chassis why is it not also true for the JDM models, in my opinion it is very possible. its just a matter of research and sharing your research with the rest of the family, now i realize lately honda-tech hasnt really been acting like a family with all the hating and otherwise douchebag behavior, but i think we can get back on track to sharing useful information and sharing POSITIVE feedback.

thanks for looking.

well stated ..I wish all post were like this one, half of the time you need a translator to translate the ghettoenglish. Im sure its possible to source some parts. look for some H-ters in japan.

I'm in europe, and I've gotten several parts from the dealership. Prices aren't even funny.
$500+ for power window switches.
$450 per glass headlight (non adjustable)
$500 for a bumper

And those are all pre-shipping.

Password etc use alot of cheap immitation products that they sell as new. Altho sometimes it's hard to tell. There are pretty decent parts out there. Hell...I've picked up parts at the dealership that I found out to be replica's.

Unless I see it in a sealed honda bag wih serial # on it, I'm going to assume it's aftermarket.

good call on seeing the tags on the honda bags, i cant tell you how many companies try to imitate, but you cant imitate the serial number, not saying imitations are bad my any means, they are trying to get us the same product for cheaper, more power to them, also i agree about the fact that most threads require a translator to figure out the jubberish, i pride myself on having a good grasp of the english language.

not sure on country code , i dont think there is a NZ OEM parts site but My town HONDA shop is really expensive , no point going there cause ya just go to the wreckers they got JDM Si cars everywhere .

Hoods
Doors
Front bumpers
would cost heaps to ship i think ae ,

dude you can get lots and lots of ricey **** here EXTREMELY cheap. if you check ebay you can get just about anything for little or no money at all. it would be awesome to get some crx woors with power windows, but if i want the main window control on my side i would have to go with the german version. 1.6i VT, or anything else with power windows, swaps would be a great idea, plus if you ship in bulk it would be alot cheaper, like a whole shipping container, maybe in the future we could go in on a group buy, im talking way in the future, but i would still love that kind of thing, it would be an amazing thing to eventually be able to trade worldwide for "hard to find" parts, the prices would go through the floor and companies would start dropping prices, i realize it would take a very large movement to cause that sort of market fluxuation, but its still exciting to dream

thanks a bunch, keep it coming

yeah be mint , i noticed on ebay them prices are really Cheap , like coilovers here are $400
short shifter 70
lights $350 etc... etc...

electric windows ...really all my mates trying to find winde up ones LOL to replace there electric ones to reduce weight

currently ive got :
ZC Head
ZC Dohc Intake Manifold + Throttle Body
L3 Box
d16a6 motor
2x PM7 JDM Si ZC dohc ecu's
Si EF3 Fuel pump
3x electric window (switchs interior bits)
civic ef3 tail lights (i think they diff to yours?)
wanna get rid of my head lights and corners JDM clear (for rice carbon's)
EF9 complete rolling body
EF9 Suspention all round
EF9 front brake setup and rear
EF9 SIr Complete Interior
EF9 Hood / gaurds , doors everything

if you guys wanna you should buy just complete cars !!!

how much is a container ?
for $7000 NZD about $4000 USD
you could buy 4 x JDM ZC Dohc EF3/EF7 civic / crx .
would take a month or so to gather them up at cheaper price cause you guys dont need warrented(6month vehicle test here in nz) or registration
so we could get them for under 1k each then ship em over

my advice, start a company. Get parts from NZ and even Austraila and ship them here. You could get the cheap and sell them at half the price of other JDM parts and still make a profit.

i would like to go to japan, hire a translator, and find someone at a junkyard or something. find a place that is trustworthy. i have a business and whould love to get into the jdm parts market but it is extreamly risky. Like lets say i send like $2000us to someone in japan for a bunch of parts, whos to say if it is even legit.

yes i know what u mean , like i could be just making up a bullshit story to get cash

or i could be making up that i made up it could be bullshit so you'd think it was legit!

yeah anyways some stuff is hard to find here ...well not hard to find it just dare to me .

96-98 Bumper and lip ? is that teg or civic ? but yeah that kinda thing

we were going to get alot of ricey parts not ricey but cheaper performance stuff like coilovers , short shift , lights etc... and sell them in a building in town that im stuck in contract to for lease it

i could definetaly trade ricey stuff for your oem stuff, that would be a hell of a trade, not to mention it would scare the hell out of password if it eventually got big enough. its funny how our ricey stuff is so cheap, not to mention your oem stuff is JDM, its just so wierd to see what scene different parts of the world are into right now, germany is still very ricey, and no performance(barely) on japanease stuff, NZ is 50/50, US is 80%clean 20%rice (even though jdm/clean is the new rice) or so some say, malaysia is straight jspec and clean as hell, japan is just straight tittys, and middle east is hundai LOL, i love conecting with the rest of the world, and why not broaden our outlooks on the global tuning scene, less hating more sharing is what i say
