Hi All,
I need some help. I've got a 97 Honda Civic LX and the push **** on the shift level has gotten really hard to push in to put it in gear. This is an Automatic Trans and I was trying to get some info or help on what i should do to fix this problem.

Check the brake sensor.

If it's not showing that it's depressed than it won't allow you to push it in.

That's on real cars though...I dunno about civics....

What is going on is that it is hard but not locked completely. It is really hard to engage the **** to shift in to R-N-D-etc.... but not impossible. I push the **** in but it's really hard and kind of slow moving in to release the shifter, but like i said not totally locked in place.

 

Has N E 1 else run into this? And how did you resolve this?
Really need some help....
