Default little wiring... err phonomenon

'91 Civic Si (480,000+ kilometers, yah DAILY driver)

Driving while cold my car is normal (as normal as it can be), but it seems on long trips when it gets a chance to warm everything up (stock A6 btw) things go awry. For instance, when i turn on my blinker (either side) my temp gauge on my cluster goes crazy! up/down/up/down, my highbeam indicator flashes. Also when I accelerate in first and second (note: when the temp gauge reads just below half) the needle shoots PAST hot, then drops down instantly when i shift to third (accelerate as in 5k-5500 rpm).

Now i have done some rewiring, but nothing major ie. ef9 single bulb headlights/back to stock dual bulb, also had my local honda dealership replace my alternator harness (?), and re-did my grounds (old ones were green )

Just looking opinions on what i should do, i was planning on getting a lower km harness and just swapping my old one out with no cut wires. thanks guys!

id take it back to that honda dealer cuz it sounds like either a problem with a ground or the alternator spiking the voltage...

you might have a short in the turn signal assembly (dont know the actual name for it.. 2 arms left right, windsheild washer etc.. ). i know for a fact that i have a short in mine, and it takes about 3 mins from when i turn on my headlights for my dash, tail, brake and corner lights to come on after that. the reason i know its that "assembly" is because i can jiggle it around and push it in and out and all the lights sometimes pop on sooner. headlights always come on though like normal. and it gets worse when it is cold.

i think those assemblys are really expensive though. so for me it isnt economical to replace it, because once my lights are on they stay on, its just it takes a while sometime.
