Axle Virbration between 30-40mph under acceleration
Car is a 93 rs with b17 swap. Car drove fine with remans for the last 10,000 or so miles. I had the car in my shop last night and I cut the rotors and balanced the wheels and they were about 2 grams off per wheel which is pretty bad. That helped alittle bit the vibration is still there. The vibration is most felt between 30-40 mph around 3,000 rpm. So that led me to believe its an axle, so I put the car on my lift today and had some of the other techs look at it while I sat in the car and spun the wheels up to speed. My team leader said he could see a slight hop in the passenger side axle but couldn't guarantee thats the problem, but said it was very likely.
Being a reman it wouldnt surprise me that the inner cv is going bad and needs to be replaced but would it cause it to only vibrate at a certain speed? Thats how wheels work when they are out of balance for the most part.
Has anyone else ever had this same virbartion problem and have new axles fix it?
