Which is better for Torque?
Supercharged JDM B16 with headwork (10.4:1 @ 8-9psi) or an 11.5:1 B20VTEC, same PR3 head? I need around town torque and meaty autocrossing power. To be fair, I am posting this in the FI Forum as well to get a nice round opinion.
I would guess that the SC'd version would have more torque, especially down in the lower rpms...i could be wrong. but either way i'm sure each motor would be fun.
Thats a damn fine question. I think the B20 might make a bit more. Its common for a B20 to make 150+ WTQ, but im not sure how much a charged16 would make. Probably the same. Either motor would work well.

haha a supercharged b16 lol
i think the b20 has more power potential all motor (albeit for alot more money) and will make the same TQ without one of those heat machines...
heres the JRSC dyno of a b16 http://www.supercharger.com/Cu...i.gif
190/138 is what a pretty basic b20 would put down....
