Default 92 civic hatch problems

I was driving my car to work this past morning, and the car started to spudder then it lost power and wouldnt rev like there was a restriction in the exhaust or intake. So when i got the car towed home it started and would idle fine for a little while fine then it would just cut of like i turned the key off. Pulled the cat off to see if it was clogged but it was fine. Changed the fuel filter and it still does the same thing. It will rev fine then idle but if u let it sit and idle it will eventually just cut off. Any ideas of what this could be??

I would start by checking the spark plugs, check the distributor cap/rotor, and depending on how old it is I would recommend changing them..

Any CEL?

Nope no CEL's. Its wierd cause it will seem like its running fine then just cut off outta no where. I'm leaning toward an ignition problem.

Probably is something worn with cap/rotor, if not the ignitor.
