Default EX brake upgrade - what'd I do wrong?

Today I had my Si hubs, new bearings, and ball joints pressed into some civic EX steering knuckles I pulled out of a junkyard about 2 years ago. I don't know if i never had them, or if I lost them, but I couldn't find the EX caliper brackets. No bother, I thought, the brackets should be the same... after all, it's the knuckles that move the caliper further out. But they don't fit... I would need to shim them about 1/2" to get them to line up with the rotors. The rotors, btw, are for a DA, which I think was the same part number as the EX. But I bought them a while ago, and I may have been wrong, so that might also be part of the problem.

I'm guessing that DA brackets would solve the issue, but can anyone confirm before i head out to the junkyard?

the EX caliper brackets are not the same as the Si.

DA ones should work.
