Default DHM perfomance electric cutout???

I have been looking into getting an e-cutout for my boosted teg and I was going to go with QTP but I have heard too many stories of them falling apart. Someone told me about this DHM performance cutout but I havent heard anything about them so I wanted to get some feedback before I order anything. They have a 4 year warranty thats supposed to cover everything except collision damage.
thanks in advance

heres the link to their site...http://www.dmhperformance.com/

I ordered a cutout from them along witha Y tube. Cutout didn't fit over the bolts on the Y tube. Called them up and they said that it was the company that made the Y tubes fault.

Didn't make much sense to me cause the block off plate fit over the bolts fine. I suggested that it was possible the cutout they sent me wasn't machined correctly., but somehow they didn't want to believe that. Only thing they offerend to do was send me another Y tube.

Ended up machining the part a little wider and got it to fit on the bolts on the tube. I just thought it would have been something they checked before they sent the product out. But, apparently it had happened to other customers before I called.

Products functions well. I haven't had any problems with mine yet.

ive had both qtp and dmh. dmh is much better in quality imo and i would choose that over the qtp.

i have the dmh, and it too fell apart on me, 2x.

the first time the motor fell off i sent the cutout back and dmh gave me a brand new one. excellent customer service

the second time i noticed the cutout opening and closing slower and slower, so i checked and the motor was about to fall off again.

long story short i jb welded the cutout motor to the gear gover and i havent had a problem since.

as for my y pipe, i cut the studs out and welded in some bolts, so they were longer.

overall, once i got the motor secured to the cutout this thing kicks ***, literally 2 seconds to open and it made like 100 hp over my stock exhaust i have on.

cut outs in general are kind of a sketchy idea. It dosnt matter what brand it is, if it hits something hard enough, its going to break.

I have a QTP cut-out and been running it for a couple years. It has given me problems before. My friend has a DMH and that has given him problems as well.

As far as the motors they use, they move differently. The DMH opens and closes within a few seconds. The QTP opens slower so you can kind of adjust how much opening you want. Honestly, just a tiny bit will result in same performance as a 3" exhaust.

I had two DMH cutouts that failed on me, although they were replaced no question asked. I found that the cutout motor will fall off or break off due to vibrations caused by running stiff engine mounts or just plain old normal vibrations. So...this is what I did to vibration proof the cutout, I made some L braces from mounting brackets that came with my autometer gauges. The brackets are made from aluminum and bends easly. I placed the bracket (L shape part) over the top of the cutout motor and then use a hose clamp to clamp the bracket down on the base that the motor sits on which in turns hold the motor down so that it does'nt move around. This has worked for a whole year with no problems what so ever. I even hit the cutout a lil one day comming out of a drive way and it still works. Prior to this mod the e-cutout would break anywhere between 3 weeks to 2 months. Also don't forget to break-in the cutout by running it closed for at least 20 min. before opening it for the first time. Cops no longer harrass me anymore due the mod with any metal you can get thats small enough to fit over the motor and your good to go. DMH E-cutout FTW!!!!

The statement above that you just made does not make any sense. Why would you only crack your cutout a small amount? Perhaps you didnt have that big of a turbo or were running that much boost and so thats why you didnt notice that much of a difference? I know that on my setup with the DMH cutout, if the cut out wasnt open almost all the way, I couldnt hit full boost because it was too restrictive. Everything was 3in btw.

I am running a qtp and it fell apart and they were great they replaced the parts no questions asked.I think if the bolts are spot welded that hold them together it would help in keeping them from falling apart. Then if you need to rmove anything its only a small spot that can be grinded off?
