okay i took out my VSS unit too fill up my tranny and i put it back together and now my engine ligh pops up with code 17? what can it be my speedometer doesnt work but my rps do? a friend of mine told me that theres a chance i lost the pin that is in between the two when you take it apart? i opened it back up and theres no pin could that be it? anything else i should try? LMK Oh...and i plugged it in so thats not it LOL....

i have plugged it in everytime! ive taken it off!

 

take the negative off to reset the ecu and see if the CEL comes back on

 

it still does i have tried that already? and speedometer still doesnt work after that either?

Double check and make sure the VSS is seated all the way in the transmission case. The rubber o-ring on them makes them sometimes FEEL like it is all the way in but in reality it is sticking out.

GL to you, i just got over a month long code 17 problem.

 

its in all the way im positve! is there a pin inbetween when you take the sensor apart? thats what i need too find out?
