qestion about remort start on my rsx-s
I would not reccommend it on a manual car.
You happen to leave it in gear at night + forgetting you left it in gear the next morning when you hit the remote start = whoops.

The true remote starts for manual trans cars require you to go through a semi-complicated shut down proceedure to ensure the trans is not in gear upon remote start activation. Kind of a PITA, but necessary to prevent damage to your or other's vehicle(s). I don't see how it could be "bad" for your car if installed and used correctly.
I have a 2005 rsx types with a remote start for over a year and i havent had a problem and i use it every day in the morning before i go to work. Just make sure its installed correctly.
If you don't and start the car... well, you get the idea...

I have it on my Accord, it's manual and it's really good to have.
And for the starter to come on, you have to shut off the car in neutral, handbrake up and press a button, then take the keys out of the ignition, the car will turn itself off. Kind of like a turbo timer.
That prevents you from starting it in gear. And if you do leave it in gear, well you won't be able to start it with the remote, because you didn't do the procedure to activate the starter. (Which I mentionned earlier)

Whatever company allows the car to be in gear and let's the car start with the remote must SUCK.
Must be some no-name brand.

ive had mine remote start for over 4 years and i have left it in gear nothing happens simply the car wont start nor will it roll off. my alarm also simply allows me to still run the immobiler with no problem if someone decides to stick a blank key and think they will drive away.
simply go to a stereo install place and ask them.

actually i does all you have to do is hot wire the car then take the data turn on, from the immobilizer and touch ground, it will send signal out and trick the ecu agian i know this cause i had done it before. but great thing about rsx is that with out the key in the ignition the steering wheel wont turn. so no turning for the thieves.
I have had remote start on my EP for about 4 years never had a problem. I just always leave it in neutral. Make sure you e-break is tight when you park on hills. However some new Directed alarms like Viper are safe for manual cars.
even the immobilizer bypasses that require you put a key in them arent bad. all you have to do is stick your key on a bench grinder so it doesnt fit in the ign switch. and most remote starts come with a neutral safety wire
