3 inch exhaust??
just stay with 2.5 inch and put the money somewhere else. are you trying to gain more power? if so list what you have and we can go from there. you only need 3 inches if you have FI.

a bit of false info in here.
3" can give power increases in NA applications, even in mild builds. The trade off is noise. ask jdogg about his dyno experience about the subject.
i used 3" on my NA setup, which was the same as bradstards, except i had a 92mm crower billet crank
loudest muffled car ive EVER heard

92typer also switched from a 2.5'' to 3'' exhaust and gained some impressive numbers

It is actually 2.75"
, 3" would yield even more gains. But yes, 3" will not sacrafice any power, but you will need to deal with the increase in noise.

doh!
how loud is the current exhaust compared to the previous one because my brother had the t1r 65mm and it wasnt very loud at all.

I'm thinking about getting a 3" for my 2.1L ITR, I'm sure it will pick up some power compared to a 2.5" Hytech with cat. I have looked at the system that Kteller is offering, it can be ordered with a 14" Magnaflow resonator and Apexi N1 muffler, I'm sure that combo is going to make a bit more noise compared to my current setup.
Or I could wait for T1R to come out with their 3" system, according to AJ sometime before summer... Probably going to be a loud one that as well.

<-- runs 3 inch kteller exhaust... with the magnaflor resonator... but i have a greddy sp2 can.. uber quiet, and that s with no cat.. ( well, a 3inch punched out cat) power gains are impressive.. just make sure you have a header to flow all that out
interesting, i was always under the impression that 2.5" is about right for a 1.8 N/A setup, 3" for boost. i always like to be informed, thank you
I ran a 3" on my all motor setup with my last ITR. 3" is not too big for NA. There are MANY people out there that are now running 3" on all motor setups. I'm going to run a 3" on my stock motor ITR to see what it will do
Well, a couple of us in this thread are not running 1.8l setups, so if it's the hot ticket for that i don't know. But for a 2.0 or larger I'm sure it will free up some additional power. It's on my list of things to get over the winter.
