Default cf hood fitment

I recently bought a vis (supposedly) cf hood off ebay. The hood looks nice, feels very strong, rolled edges and everything, just doesnt have the vis badge. I called up vis and they said they had a shortage recently so that could be why.. but anyways.
I was putting the hood on, got it to latch fine and everything but on the passenger side the hood sticks up about a 1/4" to 1/2" above the fender, and same above the headlight, It is really annoying.. I have tried playing with the rubber things and have even took them out but it didnt help. The other side fits perfectly. Is there anything i can do to make it fit better?
sorry if this is in the wrong forum btw, im a trial user whatever that means

Sounds like a warped hood. Wouldn't know how to fix that since I don't specialize in body. Does the seller have a return policy?

the hood will be stamped 'VIS' if it's legit.. if it's not don't expect the best fitment... there's also the 'slim' possibility of the latch, letting go and ruining your windsheild and hood.

well. If you already adjusted the two rubber pieces i suggest that you lower your hood latch a little that can proabably help or maybe not. Just my .02 cents. But then again it could be a warp hoood

If one side fits good, and the other side doesnt, I would think its not gonna fit no matter what you do. And if the clear is cracking too, I would bet its not a VIS. Good luck on getting a refund

I have the same problems with my ebay vis hood. The gel-coat on this one was also cracked when i received it . I just adjusted it over and over until it was close enough . The rubber stoppers and hinges were adjusted several times and it still is up on one side.

could you get me a picture of what it should look like underneath? The underside seems very strong and is made out of a hard plastic i believe theres some fiberglass in it too i believe.. it looks pretty strong. the hood also had pre-drilled holes for the windshield sprayer things, but did not have the hole drilled for the hood latch if that helps deciding if its authentic or not.

get some hoodpins to fix the fitment problem, you should be using them anyways. but those scratches/cracks in the clearcoat look pretty bad, i'd def try to exchange for a new one.

Use hood pins for sure. Save the $400 and stick with OEM. If you really want to save the 10 pounds, go on a diet.

do the "jdm" hood prop. People do that so you cant notice a bad fitting hood. Personally i dont like the look, but it may look better than a hood that doesnt fit right
