Avarage Cost of a shop to teardown and completly build a short block???

Default Avarage Cost of a shop to teardown and completly build a short block???

I am looking for an avarge cost to see if what this shop wants to do the work is legit!

This includes

Forged Pistons
Rods
All New Seals
New Bearings
Rod Bolts
Knifeed and polished crank
Balanced and Blueprinted
Oil Pump
Water Pump
Resurface fltwheel
Misc Parts
Tear down and Rebuild
All the honing and decking needed
Sure I missed something
Labor Costs

if the motor is in the car then there is gonna be alot of labor. your probally looking at atleast 3-4 grand with parts.

The motor is out of the car. It is a shortblock that still has the pistons and all other parts in it.

oh ok then your looking at like 2000-2500 or so, the parts will be like 1200 of that.

dont waste your money on knife edging the crank....i really doubt its necessary for your setup

or you could by a $50 socket set, spend a little time, and do it yourself.
