Brake problem, need opinion.
I just replaced my front rotors and pads, and bled the system. Day after day the pedal gets softer and softer. Sometimes going to the floor immediatly. Ive allready assumed its the brake booster. Its NOT leaking fluid at all. The reservoir stays full for a while.
When you guys get brake boosters do you get remanufactured? or where do you recomend to get them?
Is it common for the brake booster to loose its feel like this and not lose fluid. Wait, fluid never even enters the booster, it stay's in the master cylinder...duh.

If you are getting a spongy pedal that goes to the floor it is your master cylinder. Need a new one. I had it happen on mine. Get a new one bench bleed it first then put it on.

I was way of then. So when a bb goes bad it actually causes the pedal to be stiff and not mushy?

its your master cylinder failing probably. its usually an internal seal that fails, you wouldnt lose fluid. but sometimes you do, and it might drip into the booster.
check your booster anyway.

It's not uncommon for them to go bad right after a brake job.
The old and tired piston in the cylinder suddenly needs to function outside it's previous range. And just give up. It might be because the surface walls are of a different texture, wich causes the seal to go bad.

Wait a minute!
Didn't you say, "The reservoir stays full for a while."
So you are saying that the fluid leaks out?
I'd say start looking for a leak before you change out the master cylinderl.

If you don't have a leak, the reservoir should stay full forever, never needing a top up. Maybe after a brake job if the level is not at max I would understand a top up. You more then likely have a dead brake cylinder in the rear leaking it out slowly. I had it happen to me. To check open up your drum and see if brake fluid has pooled.

i have a similar problem
what about this? i had my bro pump the brakes when the car was off and i was checking out the level of the fluid and it drops with each pump...but when he lets off it goes back to the original level?
probably a lot of air in the system?

I just replaced the master cylinder. Didnt do a thing. Its just as sloshy as before. So im going to move onto checking the booster (which sucks, becuase the master cylinder was just ooff). I will also check wheel cylinders.
Your booster is not the problem at all. Do you have rear drums? Are the lower inside backing plates of the rear drums dark or kinda wet? There either has to be a fluid leak somewhere, or it isn't bled right.
your pumping and bleeding right not trying to gravity bleed?
Did you bench bleed the master?
