86mm type r w/ 1inch dechplate,what timing belt do i run?
whats up guys,
im about to buy a type r bored to 86mm,forged pistons/rods, with a 95mm golden eagle crank with a 1inch deckplate welded on top of block. What timing belt can i use? will the type r's fit with the 1inch deckplate? where could i get a custom one,or is another b-series long enough?

You need the adjustable GEM water pump idler for use with a P72 belt, or I believe the Ford Focus timing belt will work which is Gates T-294.

A Gates T-294 will work on a talldeck Dart, but that block is just 14mm taller than a B18 block, a 1" deckplate is 25.4mm extra so it will need a longer belt. I have a talldeck and I modified a Meziere idler plate to work with a stock length B18C belt, I contacted GE asking about their adjustable idler plate/water pump kit last year but got the message that it was not available anymore.
The best solution i think is to contact the sleeving company that did the job and ask them what fits. Otherwise you will have to buy and try different belts to find one that fits.

Deck plates are gangsta. Timing belt issues however are not. Good luck with your problem. You may wanna try contacting RS machines. I know they do that kinda stuff and would probably be able to help you out.
